Introduction
Wise living involves thinking, choosing, acting, and reacting within the framework of reality and boundaries of realm and nature. It’s dangerous to dwell in ambiguity or trespass foolishly, partly because laws and mechanisms of consequences are inherently embedded in nature.
The universal governing proposition “whatever we sow, we reap” shapes reality, circumstances, situations, and ultimate outcomes. The fruits of our lives flow from how we utilize the free will that God gave humanity, which is where the authority humanity has comes from.
Understanding the truth of God’s Word is the beginning of wisdom needful for godly living. Without it, we’re subject to deception and ultimately wrongdoing and bad living with evil and terrible outcomes.
I share here a personal testimony of experiencing spiritual attacks and finding protection through faith in God. At 17, I, Isaac Folusho Megbolugbe chose to follow Christ and have since experienced God’s protection and providence.
Key takeaways:
– Wise living involves operating within God’s boundaries and truth
– Free will gives us authority, but God’s sovereignty guides our lives
– Understanding God’s Word is key to wisdom and godly living
– Faith in God can bring protection and providence in challenging situations
The author’s story highlights the importance of trusting in God’s sovereignty and power, and the benefits of living a life guided by wisdom and faith.
Journey of Faith
Isaac Foluso Megbolugbe: The Story of my Life
My life is a testament to the power of faith and the sovereignty of God. Born into a world of spiritual darkness, I faced relentless attacks from evil forces from a young age. As a 17-year-old college student, I suffered physical and spiritual torment, with bodily marks of attack every morning.
Perplexed and seeking answers to my predicament, I consulted my mother and church leaders, who advised me to take up arms and ‘borrow power’. I refused, choosing instead to trust in God’s protection. In a bold declaration, I chose Christ as my Lord and Savior, willing to suffer or die if God couldn’t or didn’t protect me.
From that day in march of 1969, God manifestly protected me from attacks. I survived motor car accidents, lightning strikes, and countless spiritual battles. As I grew in faith, I came to understand that my authority came not from my own power, but from the Almighty above.
Today, I am a firm believer in God’s sovereignty and divine mercy and protection. I attribute my protection and safety to my faith in God and a commitment to living a life guided by His Word as expounded in the Scripture.
Key milestones in my journey of faith:
– 1969: Chose Christ exclusively as Lord and Savior amidst spiritual attacks
– 1988 Survived motor car accident and lightning strike
– 1990 Grounded myself in God’s sovereignty and Word
– 2000 Became a leader in my church and community
My story is a powerful reminder that faith in God can bring protection, providence, and purpose in life’s darkest moments. My journey inspires everyone to trust in God’s sovereignty and power, and to live a life guided by wisdom and faith.
Clarity on Spiritual Governance: Understanding the Forces at Play
The world is a battleground between two forces: good of God and evil of Satan. Man is caught in the middle, with a choice to make. We do not have power like God or Satan, but we have authority. And if we give our authority to God, if we allow him, He intervenes in our lives and circumstances – and assuredly, in our best interest too.
I was training to be a prophet in my church, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement and I priortized my education by going to Okene Government Teacher Training in 1969. I got attacked almost daily at Okene for about three months. I returned to Kabba for protection, but ultimately, I exercised my option to trust the protrction of Jesus Christ by faith, not by charms and talismas. The idea that witchcraft is only prevalent in certain cultures or regions is a misconception. Witchcraft is alive and well in other cultures including in America even if conveniently packaged and presented as harmless. But make no mistake, all forms of witchcraft is evil, connected as it is to the devil.
The devil’s goal, like a thief is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10 NLT). He has been working tirelessly to corrupt humanity, and our society is reaping the consequences. But we have a choice. We can give our authority to God, or we can give it to the devil. In either case, the consequence for man will vastly differ.
Many in this age are deceived into thinking they’re self-sufficient, that they don’t need God or Satan. That is pure self-deception – the most dangerous and self-destructive form of deception. We are ‘wired’ to worship, and if we don’t worship God, we’ll worship something else. The Bible says, “There’s something in every human being that’s supposed to worship God.” Romans 1: 19-21.
Many people’s idea of God is shaped by puny human understanding, not biblical truth. If we don’t ground ourselves in the Bible, we’ll be deceived and worship a god that is not the God of the Bible.
Bad things happen to people including, needless to say, good people. Ask – or I should say – read the Book of Job. but it’s not always the devil’s doing. Often, but not always, we’re reaping what we have sown. The Bible says, “Whatever you sow, you reap.” But God’s grace and mercy can overturn even generations of consequences.
The key is to intentionally, repeated intentionally, give our authority to God and trust in His sovereignty. When we do, He intervenes in our lives and circumstances, bringing protection, purpose, and the needed provision.
The Power of Intentional Surrender: Giving Authority to God
Giving our authority with intentionality to God is a game changer. When we surrender to God’s lordship, we tap into His power and wisdom. But what are the implications of this intentional surrender? Consider the following benefits.
Protection from Spiritual Attacks
When we hand over our authority to God, we become protected from spiritual attacks. The devil cannot do whatever he wants with us. We become ‘off-limits’, and God’s power surrounds us.
Freedom from Fear and Anxiety
Surrendering to God brings freedom from fear and anxiety. We no longer have to worry about what tomorrow brings because God is in control. We can rest assured in His sovereign power to protect and to provide our genuine needs.
Alignment with God’s Will
Submitting our authority to God aligns us with His will. We start to see things from His perspective, and our desires change. We want what God wants, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill His plan.
Empowerment for Living
Intentional surrender equips us to live a life that is pleasing to God. We receive the Holy Spirit’s guidance and strength, enabling us to overcome sin and live a life of God-centered purpose.
Divine Intervention
When we give our authority to God, He intervenes in our circumstances. He brings people, resources, and opportunities into our lives to help us fulfill His plan.
Spiritual Growth and Maturity
To surrender to God promotes spiritual growth and maturity. We learn to trust Him more, and our faith is strengthened.
Protection from Consequences
Giving our authority to God protects us from the consequences of our own mistakes. He helps us avoid pitfalls and guides us through challenging situations.
Fulfillment of Purpose
Intentional surrender helps us fulfill our God-ordained life purpose. We become part of God’s bigger plan, and our lives have meaning and significance. The opposite of giving our authority to God is defaulting to the devil. When we do that, we open ourselves up to spiritual attacks, fear, anxiety, and sin. We become vulnerable to the devil’s schemes and miss out on God’s most excellent intentions.
The choice is ours and so are the consequences. We can give our authority to God and experience the benefits of intentional surrender, or we can default to the devil and face the consequences.
Conclusion
‘Clarity Compels Wisdom Living’, posits that wise living involves operating within God’s boundaries and truth. The universal governing proposition “whatever we sow, we reap” shapes our reality, and understanding God’s Word is key to wisdom and godly living.
The story of my life is a testament to the power of faith and the sovereignty of God. My journey reminds that faith in God, total surrender to His perfect will, and unalloyed trust in His goodness can, nay does, bring protection, providence, and purpose in life’s darkest moments and beyond. I am eternally thankful that the Lord delivered me from the Evil One and his earthly agents, that even beyond that, sustains and elevates me above my adversaries, now and every day of my life. All glory and honor be to the highest God through my Redeemer, Jesus the Christ, Amen.
