A Spoonful of Love: A Honorific Poem for Mary and Clara Megbolugbe

A gentle soul, a heart of gold,
Seventy orbits of the sun to hold,
A life of love, of care and might,
A mother’s devotion, shining bright.
With every bite, a memory made,
Of selfless feeding, a love displayed,
A daughter’s hands, now hold the spoon,
Returning the care, in a sweet boon.
Fifty years of life, with a heart so true,
The daughter’s love, a reflection anew,
Of the mother’s care, that nurtured her way,
Through laughter and tears, through each passing day.
The cake, a symbol, of a life so sweet,
A celebration, of a love so unique,
The mother’s legacy, a treasure to share,
A bond between them, beyond compare.
But now, she’s gone, after a brief farewell,
Leaving behind, a memory to tell,
Of a love so strong, so pure and true,
A mother’s heart, that beat just for you.
The daughter’s hands, that fed her with care,
Now hold the memories, of a love so rare,
The spoon, that once fed, now stirs the tears,
For a mother’s love, that calmed all fears.
Rest now, dear mother, your work is done,
Your love, a legacy, forever won,
In the hearts of those, you touched so dear,
Your memory lives on, year after year.
Mum am really Missing,, your prayer, care, your Everyday call.. Angel like you are not too Common on Earth.. Missed mum.
