Introduction

As Christians, we are called to live a life that is centered on Christ. Apostle Paul’s admonition in Philippians 1:21-22 reminds us that “to live is Christ and to die is gain.” This profound statement highlights the importance of living a life that is dedicated to serving and honoring Christ.

Our Life Belongs to Christ

In 1 Corinthians 6:20, Apostle Paul writes, “You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” This verse reminds us that our lives do not belong to us, but rather to Christ who redeemed us with His blood. As such, we are called to live a life that honors God and serves His purposes.

Living with Purpose and Meaning

When we live with the understanding that our lives belong to Christ, we begin to see our existence in a new light. We are no longer living for ourselves, but rather for the One who has given us life and salvation. This realization can bring a sense of purpose and meaning to our lives, as we seek to serve and honor Christ in all that we do.

Overcoming Discouragement

Apostle Paul also reminds us in 2 Corinthians 4:16 that we should not become discouraged, even in the face of challenges and difficulties. Despite our outer selves wasting away, our inner selves are being renewed day by day. This verse encourages us to focus on the eternal and spiritual aspects of our lives, rather than the temporal and physical.

Abiding in Christ

To live a life that is centered on Christ, we must abide in Him. Just as a branch abides in the vine, we must remain connected to Christ, drawing nourishment and strength from Him. This can be achieved through spending time in the Word of God and in prayer, allowing His presence to lift up our spirits and guide us in our walk with Him.

A Change of Mindset

Apostle Paul’s words encourage us to shift our focus from the temporal to the eternal. Rather than focusing on our physical bodies, which are perishing anyway, we should focus on the heavenly realm, where our true home is. This change of mindset can bring a sense of hope and purpose to our lives, as we seek to live for Christ and serve His purposes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, living for Christ is a life of purpose and meaning. When we understand that our lives belong to Christ, we begin to see our existence in a new light. We are called to live a life that honors God and serves His purposes, even in the face of challenges and difficulties. By abiding in Christ and focusing on the eternal, we can live a life that is centered on Him, and find joy and fulfillment in serving Him.
