Psalm 91 portrays God as a refuge, protector, and deliverer, offering comfort and assurance to those who trust in Him. This iconic psalm reveals God’s character, highlighting reasons to trust Him.
God as Refuge (Psalm 91:1-2)
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (v. 1)
God is our refuge, providing safety and protection from life’s storms.
God’s Protection (Psalm 91:3-4)
“For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.” (v. 3). God shields us from harm, safeguarding our lives.
God’s Presence (Psalm 91:15)
“He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble.” (v. 15). God promises to be present in times of trouble.
God’s Deliverance (Psalm 91:14)
“Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” (v. 14). God delivers those who love and acknowledge Him.
Trust in God’s Sovereignty
Trusting God means:
1. Recognizing His control over all circumstances
2. Believing in His goodness and love
3. Relying on His protection and deliverance
4. Seeking refuge in Him alone
