Humility isn’t weakness; it’s a powerful catalyst for God’s intervention. When we’re humble, we acknowledge our dependence on God, recognizing that everything we have comes from Him. This posture attracts God’s favor, guidance, and strength.
The Humble Prayer Pattern
Jesus modeled humility, and we can follow His example through prayer. The humble prayer pattern involves three responses to God’s grace:
1. Submit: Surrender to God’s will, saying “not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Submit your finances, relationships, and decisions to Him.
2. Resist: Push back against the enemy, speaking truth and authority over your situation (James 4:7). Use scriptures like “Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
3. Draw Near: Increase proximity to God, slowing down to hear His voice (James 4:8). Say, “Lord, I draw near to you, seeking your presence and guidance.”
