My pursuit of an MBA was a tumultuous sea of challenges, marked by personal struggles, financial constraints, and academic pressures. I felt like abandoning my dream, surrendering to despair, and losing faith. But from the intersectionality of my despair and my dad’s struggles with widowhood, a mutual desire and determination emerged. We found strength in each other, and our bond became the catalyst for healing and growth.

As we navigated the stormy seas of life together, our mutual encouragement and support created a fusion of faith, hope, and energy. This powered my dad to complete his associate degree in accounting, a new subject for him after retirement, and me to graduate with an MBA degree with a focus on strategy.

Our story is a testament to the power of intersectionality and confluence. Having a companion in the boat of life, navigating the stormy seas, brought us encouragement, bonding, strengthening, and flowering. Like a caterpillar emerging as a beautiful butterfly, we found new wings to fly, endeavored with new functionality, and discovered greater and bountiful productivity for the future.

In the midst of adversity, we found strength in God’s Word, supportive relationships, and a growth mindset. We learned to lean on faith, embrace perseverance, and acknowledge the support of those around us. Our journey shows that even in the face of adversity, with God on our side, we can achieve our dreams and come out stronger on the other side.
