I hope this letter finds you well, in excellent health, and enjoying a period of well-deserved relaxation following your recent demanding obligations. Managing the dual pressures of acting as both the strategic braintrust and the administrative anchor of your governing council is no small feat, and your dedication remains deeply inspiring.
I have spent considerable time pondering our previous discourse. When you published my article on the secular/sacred divide, I initially sought a formal debate on the matter. You wisely noted at the time that such an exercise would ultimately prove futile, as both sides would inevitably retreat into their own paradigms, dismissing the opposing perspective as fundamentally subjective.
Your wisdom on that point has stayed with me, serving as the primary catalyst for the enclosed article: “The Epistemic Inversion: The Subjective Arrogance of the Secular Integration Project.”
This paper acts as my direct response to our impasse. I ask that you publish it as opinion editorial. In it, I argue that the gridlock between the secular and the sacred is not a balanced clash of two equal subjectivities. Rather, it is a profound epistemic inversion. The objective reality that humanity inhabits has always existed independently of us. It was humanity that subjectively chose to mount a secular experiment by constructing an artificial, socially enclosed space. The ultimate absurdity of the modern project lies in its attempt to subjectively “re-integrate” the sacred into the parameters of this failed secular simulation.
True harmony cannot be achieved by repackaging the results of a secular experiment. As the manuscript concludes, sanity can only be restored when we discard our human-centric metrics, recognize the limits of our social constructions, and stand at the edge of the ontological chasm—humbly realizing that the sacred cannot be integrated into our systems; we must be integrated into His.
Given your towering legacy as a champion of letters, critical inquiry, and cultural synthesis at the University of Ilorin and across the global academic landscape, your ability to enable sharing of my perspective on this critique would be invaluable.
