The Power of Surrender: Attracting God’s Glory through the Spirit’s Work

As I reflect on my journey with God, I’ve come to realize that only the work of the Spirit of God in us attracts God’s Glory. It’s a profound truth that has transformed my understanding of what it means to live a life that honors God.
God’s desire for us is not to strive for self-improvement or to achieve greatness through our own strength. Rather, He wants us to empty ourselves, surrendering our will to His, so that He can fill us with His Spirit. This surrender allows the Spirit to do the work that God has prepared beforehand, for His own purposes and glory. For example, I went back to school after I healed from my wife’s death to study accounting so that I could get an MBA degree, certification for both public accounting and management accounting. I would the proceed to patent a few business solutions that I have formulated. As soon as I finished my associate degree in accounting, I discovered that Creative-AI technology has already abnormalized problems that I wanted to solve. So, I abandoned my plans for MBA and accounting certifications . As soon as I made this decision, the Lord prompted me to look into how Creative-AI works and began to show me why I don’t need another degree in theology to go into ministry. A friend that I consulted about starting a ministry suggested a few classes that I could take in apologetics. Then all a sudden I stumbled into two people who we taught by God Himself for their respective ministries. I began to follow both and within months I understood the crux to start a Holy Spirit – driven ministry. You don’t have to invite Him through prayer and acquisition of more knowledge and expertise. He invites you instead through surrender.
When we comprehend that we are mere vessels, created for God’s workmanship, we will remain humble and surrendered. This surrender is key to experiencing the amazing fruits and harvest of righteousness that we all seek.
Any work done in our own strength is mere fleshly effort, devoid of God’s power. It’s only when the Spirit works in us, empowering us to accomplish impossible tasks, that God’s Glory is reflected. This is the essence of Christianity – receiving what Christ has done for us and responding in love and obedience.
As Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18-19, may we know the incomparably great power of God, which is the same mighty strength that raised Christ from the dead. May we experience this power in our lives, pursuing God-ordained dreams that require His strength and wisdom.
In surrendering to the Father’s will, we open ourselves to the Spirit’s work, and it’s there that we’ll find the true reflection of God’s goodness and glory.
Honestly that’s my belief about answering God’s call to serve him too ie to surrender to Him totally. But when one refuses to surrender such will start negotiating in prayer and seek to acquire more knowledge (which may not even be relevant) to convince himself that he’s doing the work of God. Thank you Daddy for this reinforcement
