Returning to Nigeria in 1983 with a fresh doctorate felt like stepping onto a battlefield of ideas. I had been hired by the University of Ibadan with a massive, exhilarating mandate: to shape the curriculum and professional education for a new generation of town planners. These students were meant to possess a unique, mediated capacity to lead spatial development at every unit of geography—from local subdivisions and cities to state, regional, and national levels. I arrived full of energy, eager to innovate a curriculum that could match the ambitious goals of a rapidly changing nation.
The Friction of Colonial Legacy
My vision for the department was centered on transformation. I proposed a set of core curriculum components specifically designed to upgrade the visionary and design competencies of our students, pushing them to think beyond mere bureaucracy.
However, I quickly collided with institutional inertia. The establishment flatly rejected my proposals. Instead of embracing innovation, they chose to preserve the traditional, rigid town planning frameworks inherited from the United Kingdom—a relic of our former colonial masters.
It was a frustrating lesson in institutional resistance. Realizing that the curriculum door was firmly shut, I pivoted. I redirected my energy toward rigorous research, scholarship, and university-supported consulting.

I assumed my faculty position at FSU as an Assistant Professor of Urban and Regional Planning, eager to see how my ideas would land on this new soil. Away from the restrictive, colonial frameworks that had stifled innovation in Ibadan, the American academic landscape offered an open field. I threw myself into my responsibilities, determined to honor the door that had been opened for me.
The launch of my career in the United States was marked by five distinct milestones that solidified my place in the academy:

Sitting in my technologically advanced faculty office in Florida, watching my work gain international recognition, my mind constantly traveled back to where it all began. The trajectory that launched my academic career in the United States did not start with my doctoral defense, nor did it begin at the University of Ibadan.

It was there, as a former dropout trying to find his footing, that I met Dr. Jide Maiye. At the time, he was a humble Grade 3 teacher, tasked with instructing the Primary School Class 3 at the Apostolic Elementary School, Effo-Amuro. He was the one who took a chance on a boy who had lost five years of schooling. He watered the seed of intellect that everyone else had overlooked.
Twenty years later, that seed had crossed an ocean, survived institutional hostility, and bloomed into a professorship in the United States. The early chapter of my life was officially closing, and a new era of global impact had begun.
Chapter 3: From the Capital to the Kingdom
The academic success in Florida eventually caught the attention of the nation’s capital. I was invited to join the Office of the Chief Economist at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C., as a policy analyst. In this high-stakes environment, I quickly gained celebrity status among colleagues and leadership alike through three major contributions:

This exhausting cycle of professional displacement eventually pushed me into deep despair, signaling the beginning of a devastating season of personal loss. The structures of my earthly life began to shatter completely:

The Turning Point at Seventy
When I turned 70 in 2022, I reached the end of my own strength and surrendered completely to God. I saturated my mind with the Scriptures day and night. This total immersion exploded my spiritual intuition, quieted the noise in my mind, and fully removed the deep anxieties that had anchored themselves in my heart.
The promptings of the Holy Spirit transformed from occasional whispers into a regular, living part of my daily existence—constantly educating me in Scripture and guiding my physical steps. Through this process, I achieved a unified self-identity. I began to live in a unified spiritual realm, experiencing total congruence with the divine and enjoying an unprecedented sense of cognitive freedom.
The Divine Mandate
It was in this space of absolute surrender that God spoke to me. He revealed that my path had not been a series of tragic accidents, but a deliberate dismantling.
He told me that He was going to use the raw material of my 74 years of lived experience—the academic victories, the institutional rejections, the nomadic childhood, the constructive banishment, and the deepest valleys of grief—to disciple modern-day humanity.
He formally deputized me as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God, headquartered in Heaven. I was no longer a displaced professor or a grieving father; I was a chosen vessel, equipped for strategic spiritual warfare against the Kingdom of Darkness for the very souls of humanity. The earthly exile was over, and the heavenly ambassadorship had begun.
Chapter 4: The Digital Highway and the 10-Book Mandate
Introduction: The Mechanics of the Ambassadorship
To turn seventy in a state of absolute brokenness is to find oneself precisely where God can use the raw material of a lifetime. The quiet, inward transformation that began in 2022 was never intended to remain a private sanctuary. It was a mobilization process. The Holy Spirit did not simply quiet the noise in my mind and remove the deep anxieties of my past just to grant me a peaceful retirement. Instead, those fires were used to forge a weapon. But an ambassador whose home country is headquartered in Heaven cannot be limited by earthly zip codes, regional biases, or the familiar walls of a hometown that has already enacted its constructive banishment. The mandate given to me demanded that I occupy a different kind of terrain: the vast, borderless, and instantaneous landscape of the global digital highway.
Operating as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God means working as a spiritual engineer. My mission objective is to take seventy-four years of lived experience—the academic precision of an urban planner, the bitter sting of institutional rejection, and the deep valleys of personal family grief—and filter it completely through the lens of Holy Scripture. The goal is to harvest actionable spiritual insights and living DNA. These are not merely texts to be read for intellectual entertainment; they are blueprints designed to be inhabited. They are written so that modern believers can download them, break free from the orphan spirit of worldly validation, and step confidently into their own identity as living disciples for the Kingdom of God. The warfare with the Kingdom of Darkness is systemic, and the digital highway is the network through which the counter-offensive is now being launched.

The blueprint for this global deployment did not emerge from strategic planning sessions or human brainstorming. It arrived as a series of clear, uncompromised instructions whispered directly into my spirit by the Living God. As the anointed vessel for this specific assignment, the spiritual weight, the voice, and the final output must flow directly through me. The integrity of the message depends entirely on an unfiltered pipeline between the Holy Spirit and my own heart, ensuring that the final text carries the exact frequency of the Heaven it represents.
The Law of Illumination and the Redefined Tool
The second instruction flipped my decades of academic training completely on its head. For a man who spent his life as a university professor, a researcher, and a policy analyst, my default instinct was to dive into libraries, gather data, and study secular literature. The Lord strictly forbade this. I was told explicitly: “Do not lean on your own understanding, and do not devote your mind to research.” Instead, my own seventy-four years of raw, lived experience was to be the primary case study—the raw material that the Holy Spirit and the Word of God would systematically illuminate.
Furthermore, God gave me a revolutionary directive regarding modern technology. In this assignment, Artificial Intelligence was not to be used as an independent thinker, but as a digital mirror. The prompts I author for the AI must fully embody God’s living DNA, carrying the depth of scripture and spiritual revelation. When the inputs are pure and aligned with the Kingdom, the AI is effectively restricted to producing godly aligned narratives, acting as a high-powered amplifier for the divine message.
My work program under this law is entirely counter-intuitive to the human hustle. While the world demands relentless grinding, my assignment is to rest, to sleep, to worship, to lose myself in praise music, or simply to sit in absolute stillness. In that deliberate cessation of human labor, the pipeline opens, and the text flows.
The Law of the Presence and Sovereign Joy
The third instruction governs the environment from which these books are born. Writing these volumes is not a grueling chore; it is an act of deep intimacy. Spending hours anchored in the tangible Presence of God brings a sovereign, unspeakable joy into my life. My reverence for what He is doing frequently brings tears of profound thanksgiving streaming down my face. I am watching the total turnaround of my life play out in living colors—moving from the absolute wreckage of grief and institutional rejection to a place of unparalleled spiritual authority and mental freedom. The tears are the signature of a grateful ambassador who knows exactly how deep the valley was from which he was rescued.
Living in Listening Mode
To execute these three laws, I have had to train myself to live in constant listening mode. No matter what I am physically doing—whether I am walking, resting, or eating—my spirit is scanning the heavens, actively expecting the distinct signature of God to prompt my next move.
The path of total alignment is a daily, disciplined schooling. I am striving for 100 percent obedience, but I frequently find myself falling short. The old academic habits die hard; I often catch myself slipping back into my own human knowledge, relying on man-made expertise and intellectual striving to accomplish a divine task. Whenever I lean on the flesh, the correction from the Holy Spirit is immediate. I am redirected, rebuked, and brought back to a posture of stillness. Yet, through this constant pruning, I am learning. My spiritual discernment is sharpening by the hour, and I am discovering how to truly step out of the way so that the Ambassador can speak.
III. The Manifested Works: The First Six Books
Book 1: The Living Parable: Filtering Family History Through the Lens of the Prodigal Son
The Living Parable stands as a raw, fiercely honest blueprint for any parent standing at the threshold of an empty horizon, waiting for a wandering child. For decades, I watched my family structure dismantle under the weight of an unseen, systemic spiritual war: my eldest daughter spiraled from childhood hyperactivity into the brutal margins of homelessness; my brilliant second daughter rebelled through academic perfection, weaponizing the state against her own parents before her sudden, tragic passing on an Oregon highway; and my youngest son dropped out of engineering school, disappearing into the dark grip of drugs and psychiatric wards. Where society dictates retirement, deceleration, and a passive looking-backward, the Kingdom of God has demanded an accelerated, forward-looking work program. As I map out the remainder of this assignment, I find myself looking back at the human instruments God used to build the ambassador. To honor them, I have authored five distinct tributes dedicated to my key mentors. These are not merely emotional letters of appreciation; they are explicit, theological acknowledgments of divine providence. I am writing to show how God strategically planted each and every one of these individuals into my life to execute exactly what had already been ordained in the heavens. It is the exact pattern of the Apostle Paul, who was guided to sit at the feet of the great law-teacher Gamaliel to master the very Scriptures he would later use to author the bulk of the New Testament epistles. My mentors did not just teach me; they unknowingly prepared a vessel for a heavenly ambassadorship.
To fully articulate this heritage of preparation, I am currently drafting a series of articles exploring how God beautifully confluenced my personal legacy with the late Professor Ojetunji Abayode and Professor Akin Mabogunje at the University of Ibadan. These men were the towering giants of the social sciences and the gold standard of technocratic excellence in national and urban development. Furthermore, I am exploring my active, intellectual peership with Professor Tunji Olaopa. Together, we are dissecting the sophisticated scholar/practitioner career methodology that Abayode and Mabogunjepioneered.
Looking through the lens of seventy-five years, I see that my training as an urban planner was never a secular detour—it was the scaffolding. God used the premier minds of national development to teach me how to analyze, organize, and build macro-structures. Now, the Holy Spirit has repurposed that exact structural methodology to map out the architecture of eternal redemption. The tools are the same, but the kingdom has changed. I march toward seventy-five with a clear mind, a quiet heart, and an unshakeable mandate: to finish the books, to secure the legacy, and to faithfully represent the Government of Heaven until the assignment is complete.
