Our Love Story: A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness

It was the year 2003 when Rita and I first met. Our offices were just a building apart, making it easy for us to cross paths. One fateful day, I spotted her walking towards her office, and I knew right then that she was the one God had prepared for me.

We began as friends, taking the time to get to know each other, studying each other from afar, and asking all the important questions. As our friendship blossomed, I realized I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else. So, I took a deep breath and proposed to her.

To my delight, she said yes! We started visiting each other’s homes, but Rita’s dad was initially hesitant about our relationship due to our cultural differences – she’s from Delta State, and I’m from Kogi State. However, our love for each other was unwavering, and we saw his objections as a challenge to overcome.

We prayed fervently, seeking God’s guidance and intervention. And, as we trusted in His plan, Rita’s dad eventually gave his blessing, and we became inseparable.

Our Wedding and Early Years

We tied the knot on December 12, 2004, surrounded by loved ones. After our wedding, we made a conscious decision to prioritize Rita’s education, and she enrolled in university. However, this decision came with its own set of challenges.

Just a few months into her studies, Rita became pregnant with our first child. She had to navigate multiple changes simultaneously: adapting to married life, managing her pregnancy, and pursuing her degree. Through it all, we stood together, relying on our love and faith to carry us through.

Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Milestones

As we journeyed through life together, we encountered our fair share of problems. Some were rooted in our upbringing and cultural backgrounds, requiring us to unlearn certain habits and perspectives. But, with God’s guidance, we persevered and grew stronger as a couple.

Today, we’re proud parents of three amazing children: Felix, Eniola, and Sharon. Our eldest, Felix, is about to graduate from university, while Eniola has just gained admission to Oduduwa University. Sharon, our youngest, has begun her junior secondary school journey.

In recent times, we’ve experienced the goodness of God in a profound way. Rita and Sharon were involved in an accident, but, thanks to divine intervention, they’re safe and sound.

Reflecting on Our Journey

As we celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we’re reminded of God’s unwavering faithfulness. He’s taken us on an incredible journey, transforming our lives in ways we never thought possible.

We’ve moved from living in a small apartment to a comfortable bungalow. We’ve established a church and a school, touching lives and spreading the love of God.

Our story is a testament to the power of faith, love, and perseverance. We’re honored to share it with you, and we invite you to join us as we celebrate this milestone anniversary and the goodness of God in our lives.
