The Destiny of Humanity: Where Do We Go After Death and Resurrection?

The Holy Scriptures reveal the mysteries of what happens to humanity after death and resurrection. This article explores the spiritual state of affairs for every person, according to God’s Word.
*After Death*
When we die, the spirit that makes us a living soul returns to God (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Our physical bodies return to dust, and our souls go to either Paradise (Luke 23:43, 2 Corinthians 12:4) or Hell (Matthew 25:41, Revelation 20:15).
*After Resurrection*
After resurrection, every person receives a new body enabled for eternal life. Believers in Christ are reunited with the full dwelling of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:42-44, Romans 8:11), while those who reject God receive a spirit that makes them a living being, but it is an evil spirit that separates them from God’s presence forever (Matthew 25:41, Revelation 20:15).
*The State of Every Person*
In Paradise, believers enjoy the presence of God, while in Hell, the wicked are separated from God’s love and light. After resurrection, the righteous are clothed with immortal, glorified bodies, and the wicked are tormented in their resurrected bodies.
In conclusion, the Holy Scriptures reveal that our souls go to either Paradise or Hell after death, and after resurrection, we receive new bodies that determine our eternal destiny. May this truth guide us to seek God’s grace and salvation through Jesus Christ.
