As believers, our relationship with Jesus Christ and God is multifaceted, encompassing various roles and dimensions.
Components of Our Relationship
Jesus Christ: The Builder and Son
Jesus Christ is the builder of the house of God’s people (Hebrews 3:3-6). As the Son of God, He inherits all that God has, including His Name and Attributes (Hebrews 1:2-3). Jesus is:
1. Our Maker: Creating and sustaining us.
2. Our Owner: Having authority over us.
3. Our Ruler: Guiding and directing us.
4. Our Provider: Supplying our needs.
Believers: The House
As believers, we are:
1. The House: Built by Jesus Christ (Hebrews 3:6).
2. Servants: Members of the Body of Christ, with Jesus as the Head (1 Corinthians 12:27).
3. Adopted Sons and Daughters: Part of God’s household through adoption (Ephesians 1:5).
Unity and Oneness
Jesus Christ and God are one (John 10:30). Through Jesus, we become:
1. Partakers of Eternal Life: Sharing in God’s divine nature.
2. One in Christ Jesus: United with God and fellow believers.
Redemption and Glory
Our redemption is full and complete in Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:10). We become:
1. Part of God’s Glory: Reflecting His radiance.
