Introduction

Faith is a precious gift from God, enabling us to trust in His goodness and sovereignty. This article explores the nature of faith as a divine gift, its significance in our relationship with God, and its transformative power in our lives.

Faith: A Supernatural Gift

Scripture affirms that faith is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9), granted by His grace and mercy (Romans 4:16). Like repentance (Acts 11:18; 2 Timothy 2:25), faith is a supernatural work of God, not the result of human effort (John 6:44, 65).

Enduring and Unchanging

Faith is not a fleeting moment of belief but a living, enduring trust in God (Habakkuk 2:4; Hebrews 3:14). It is a permanent and abiding gift, guaranteed to endure to the end (Philippians 1:6; 1 Corinthians 1:8; Colossians 1:22-23).

God’s Glory

God alone receives glory for the gift of faith, which is an integral part of His grace bestowed upon us (Ephesians 2:5). We have received faith from Him and through Him (Romans 3:20; Galatians 2:16; Philippians 1:29; 2 Peter 1:1).

Conclusion

The gift of faith is a divine treasure, enabling us to know and experience God in a deep and personal way. May we cherish and nurture this gift, trusting in God’s goodness and sovereignty in all aspects of our lives.
