Introduction
God’s existence and presence are complex and multifaceted, revealed throughout the Holy Scriptures. Understanding these various aspects deepens our appreciation for God’s nature and His relationship with humanity.
Pre-Incarnation
Before taking human form, God existed eternally exhibiting many attributes including: Word, Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14). This period saw God’s creation of the world (Genesis 1:1) and interactions with patriarchs like Abraham and Moses.

2. Angel of the Lord: God’s presence manifested through angels (Genesis 16:7-13, Exodus 3:2-4).
3. Cloud and Fire: God’s presence accompanied Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 13:21-22).

Omnipresent
God’s presence fills all creation (Psalm 139:7-10, Jeremiah 23:23-24).
Characteristics
1. Transcendent: Beyond human comprehension.
2. Immanent: Intimately involved in human affairs.
Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
After Jesus’ ascension, the Holy Spirit dwells within believers (John 14:17, Romans 8:9-11).
Roles
1. Comforter: Guides and encourages.
2. Convictor: Reveals sin and righteousness.
3. Empowerer: Enables service and witness.
Other Manifestations
1. Dreams and Visions: God communicates through dreams (Genesis 28:10-22, Acts 2:17).
2. Prophetic Voices: God speaks through prophets (2 Peter 1:20-21).
3. Miracles and Signs: God’s power displayed (Exodus 7-12, Mark 16:17-20).
Conclusion
God’s existence and presence encompass various facets, demonstrating His complex nature and desire for relationship with humanity. Through scripture, we understand and reverence God’s multifaceted presence. But, God is self-existent and separate from His Creation. God is unknowable as He is beyond creation and humanity.
