Enter His Presence

As believers, we often struggle with feelings of inadequacy and guilt, wondering if we measure up to God’s standards. We may feel like our efforts to practice perfect obedience fall short, leaving us uncertain about our standing before God. However, the Bible reveals a profound truth: the grace we need to sustain our holiness comes not from our efforts, but from the mercy God grants us in His Presence.

The lie that Satan often uses to keep us away from our quiet time with God is that we’re not worthy due to our sins and shortcomings. But this is a deception. The truth is that God’s mercy is available to us, and it’s in His Presence that we receive the grace we need to live a life that honors Him.

In the Old Testament, the High Priest would enter the Holiest of Holies to atone for the sins of the people. When he emerged, the people would rejoice, knowing that they were fully accepted by God. This ritual foreshadowed the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who became our High Priest, offering Himself as the atonement for our sins.

Hebrews 4:15-16 reminds us that Jesus, our High Priest, understands our weaknesses and faced the same temptations we do, yet He remained sinless. Because of this, we can approach God’s throne with boldness, receiving His mercy and finding the grace we need to overcome our struggles.

The Limitations of Self-Effort

It’s essential to recognize that our efforts to practice perfect obedience outside of God’s Presence are ultimately futile. We will always fall short, and our self-efforts can lead to frustration, guilt, and shame. However, when we come to God as we are, acknowledging our weaknesses and limitations, we open ourselves to receiving His mercy and grace.

The Power of God’s Presence

God’s Presence is where we experience the transformative power of His mercy and grace. It’s in His Presence that we’re reminded of our acceptance and worth, not based on our performance, but on Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

As we spend time in God’s Presence, we begin to understand that our holiness is not dependent on our self-efforts, but on the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We’re empowered to live a life that honors God, not because we’re trying to earn His favor, but because we’re already accepted and loved by Him.

Conclusion

The grace we need to sustain our holiness comes from the mercy God grants us in His Presence. It’s time to stop believing the lie that we’re not worthy due to our sins and shortcomings. Instead, let’s come boldly to God’s throne, receiving His mercy and finding the grace we need to live a life that honors Him.

As we bask in God’s Presence, let’s remember that our acceptance and worth are not based on our performance, but on Jesus’ finished work on the cross. May we experience the transformative power of God’s mercy and grace, empowering us to live a life that reflects His glory and goodness.
